When I first came to Brazil, I told my sister that just coming here to be with her was worth the price of admission. I wasn’t planning on partying or going out and doing many touristy things. At my core, I’m a homebody - I like staying indoors. Covid and traveling haven’t changed me that much. I’ve traveled to the West Coast and the East Coast of the US and didn’t go outside much. Then I traveled to North East Brazil and I haven’t gotten out much here either.
As of today though, my sister is on a month long holiday. Originally, we were both supposed to have left Brazil - her going home to Jamaica and me going wherever. But plans changed and she wasn’t going to be able to go home for her holiday.
A couple days ago, I found out that her roommate was going to be working at a hospital in a different state for May. Therefore, if I had left, not only would my sister have been alone in Brazil for a month, but she would have lost both her sister and roommate on the same day.
Gosh that would’ve sucked!
But God knew what was going on. My sister couldn’t go home as she had originally planned and I’m staying longer than I’d originally planned.
These changes in circumstances have roused the mildly adventurous side of me - so we will go do some touristy stuff.
Hopefully I’ll be able to share some photos with you of the great Brazilian outdoors.
